Welcome to Caged Inferno!
Here is a list of of the MMA Fight Teams that participated in Caged Inferno, the most exciting Caged MMA and ultimate fighting matches ever, and hopefully will be in the next Caged Inferno!
The Four Seasons Fight Team: Out of Lexington, Kentucky, They built around a philosophy of blending training in multiple styles. The person who does this blending is Mike O’Donnell. Mike is a Gracie jiu jitsu black belt with an impressive resume. Mike has represented Team Gracie at the Gracie Fighting Challenge (a win at 4:09 of round 2 with an arm lock from the mount), and was promoted to black belt by Carlson Gracie. The Four Seasons Team does more than jiu jitsu though, Gerald Reed, a professional boxer, teaches the finer points of pugilism, core muscles, and Ernie Lake teaches muy thai (Ernie is certified under Master Chai). O’Donnell says that there are about 20 fighters on the team and they fight in a range of events. Classes are held 7 days a week. Every fighter has minimum training levels they are required to achieve and they must train in all styles. The different styles are blended by O’Donnell to create the team’s philosophy and approach to mixed martial arts. Four Seasons is home to pro fighter Justin Moore, who won the first professional mixed martial arts fight in the state; as well as Rob Browning the current American Fight League Featherweight Champion.
If you haven’t heard, MMA is growing at an exception rate. You will see huge UFC and related fights in Las Vegas and even international locations. More and more fighters are coming out of the state of Florida. Maybe it has to do with longer potential training options? Don’t be surprised to see fighters training all along the beautiful Florida Beaches…
Team Jorge Gurgel: They are probably the best known team to compete in Caged Inferno. Team Jorge Gurgel is a multi-state MMA competition team with members who specialize in Brazilian jiu jitsu, submission grappling, muay thai, and full contact events like Caged Inferno. Team Jorge Gurgel is based at JG MMA Academy in West Chester, Ohio. Caged Inferno’s own referee, Jorge Gurgel is the head instructor for the team. Jorge attained his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under American Top Team black belt and Pride veteran Marcus Aurelio. Team Jorge Gurgel has over 30 members spread across seven states. The fighters compete in shows at every level including Caged Inferno, UFC, Bodog Fights, and King of the Cage. JG MMA Academy is a 12,800 square foot facility and the training home of UFC veterans, Rich Franklin, Jorge Gurgel, and Dustin Hazelett.
